From London with love...the Royal Wedding trends, tidbits and total surprises — The style and significance of the Royal Wedding

Kim Rix shared her observations from London: Romance has no boundaries – it brings people together from all over the world.  Kim explained that it’s a royal wedding tradition for the groom not to watch his bride coming down the aisle, so one of Kim’s personal favorite moments was the look on William’s face when he first looked at Kate at the alter.

The impact of the royal wedding is that it established Kate as the leading style icon.  She is being compared to Audrey Hepburn –  for her style statement, not a fashion statement.  Fashion is fleeting, but style is timeless.

Kim described how Westminster Abbey was transformed into an English country look, so important to Kate and in a clear departure from the traditional look of the Abbey.  Even though trees and other plants were used in keeping with the green and eco-friendly theme,  there were nearly 30,000 flowers used to adorn the inside of the Abbey.  Lily of the Valley in the bouquet and the buttoniers signifies humility and return to happiness.

Kim and Wayne agreed that the royal couple defined their wedding style as very personal, expressive of their love and their position as modern royalty.

Wedding Words of Wisdom™ that Kim imagines Kate’s father gave her would be those of comfort and never ending love for her.  Wayne’s Wedding Words of Wisdom™ – take mental pictures to last a lifetime.
